Team Awards

  • Teams receive 1/2 point for every $250 in pledges turned in by their players before their first game. There is a maximum of 5 points per team that can be received for pledges. Divisional standings are based on points won playing hockey plus points received for pledges. It is readily apparent that larger amounts of pledges will increase each team's chances in the final standing in the division after the hockey has been completed. Additionally, when teams are tied for the playoffs and after head to head competition results, the amounts of team pledges is the second tie breaker.
  • Team pledges of $5,000 or more earn entry into our Hockey for Hospice Hall of Fame. This includes:
    • Team picture permanently displayed on our website.
    • Team picture displayed annually at all future tournaments.
    • Team name engraved on permanent trophy displayed at Amherstburg arena.
    • In addition, every tournament player on the team will receive a framed certificate and small team photo.

In addition, the player or players, who achieve the highest amount of pledges collected on each team, will receive a framed Hockey for Hospice certificate signed by Carol Derbyshire, the Executive Director of Hospice that will include his or her name and the name of their team. Certificate winners will be listed on the website.

  • All prizes and awards will be announced to the winners and will be distributed to the individuals during the tournament.
